Day #14 - Graeagle to Lake Almanor

Super chill today. Both effort wise and temperature wise (had to wear leg and hand warmers). Scenery very similar to the one the day before. Well paved roads twisting and turning through two different national forests. Uphills were very gentle and luckily the wind was mostly coming from the side not head on although not always. It’s crazy because wind just magically disappeared yesterday around 7pm and today it appeared again around 9am in exactly same manner - just as if someone had an on/off switch. One second no wind, the other 20km/h wind coming from all the directions. 🧐

It never ceases to amaze me how towns vary here so much. For example one ‘town’ (population 196) might have really well maintained houses and general infrastructure while 10km before there was a city of 5k people which seemed like its only purpose was to maintain the railroads. Go figure how it looked like… I am trying to find some pattern here but haven’t figured it out yet.

Unfortunately the drivers are getting less polite on the roads and some even seem to be triggered by my pink jersey. 🙄 I wonder if they will stop letting me into the shops eventually hahah!
