Yay my free camping went better than expected. Didn’t get mugged nor arrested! 😅 Was totally hidden from the plain sight but still didn’t escape the sprinkler system running at 1am. Gardeners did a good job. 😃

I was supposed to stay and wait for Linda and Marcus at Rocks Springs but boy is this town dying. No more coal mining (luckily) but it seems this place got hit hard by it. In theory 20k of citizens but the downtown was empty. Both of people and services. After a Walmart pit stop I decided to bail from there and head towards the scenic Flaming Gorge.

Extremely good call. Firehole campground was probably one of the best thus far - free hot showers, cozy ‘pagodas’ and Moab like scenery with boulder towers. Moreover the camp hosts supposedly spotted me at Walmart and said to themselves ‘If this guys makes it to our campsite he stays for free’. Well I did and was welcomed with a great camp spot. Amazing.
