Day #14: Abancay - Casa Lena
What a climb! 36km uphill from my hotel and a 31km Strava segment! 😅 Frenchies started at 6:45 and I caught up with them 3km before the end at around 13:45. Where is the fun in climbing for a 7h on a tandem? I truly don’t get it.
Honestly super impressed with my own body considering that I left around 11am after having a rough 2h in a toilet. 😬 My belly can’t stomach chicken rice anymore so I had lasagna but boy was it smoldered in cheese which apparently is even worse for my belly.
I am glad I finally arrived at Casa Lena which is this B&B run by Belgian-Peruvian couple. What a magnificent view they have. And they have an alpaca! :3 Oh and they gave me invaluable tips confirming my worries that going to Aguas Calientes across the mountains on a single track might be a little too much for my gravel bike and if anything I should have a full suspension. Plus it’s not the greatest timing either - right before and during Christmas. Sooo I’m just gonna rush it to Cuzco and figure out how to reach Macchu from there.

Just a guy touring on his bike across the world and getting progressively broke. Should you wish to help me out and fuel few kilometers of my ride please paypal.me/MPaluchowski. Any sort of help is greatly appreciated.
