Instead of cycling there I decided to take a direct train going through the Sacred Valley which is pretty much unavailable otherwise. (Saw some people on Strava cycling through it but honestly idk how. They were probably just walking by the railroad tracks.)

I was afraid that both the train ride and Macchu Picchu would be a completely overpriced tourist trap. It’s not. The Sacred Valley and Macchu Picchu is mind blowing. Simply spectacular.

The only better way of experiencing it I can think of is probably hiking the Inca Trail from Cusco. But not during the rainy season, although I cannot imagine a better weather than yesterday’s.
