🌧 & 💨 But honestly it wasn’t too bad. Definitely way better than the forecast predictions which claimed torrential rains and hurricane headwinds. I managed to avoid both for the most part of it. Occasional drizzle here and there while some heavy downpours were near surrounding mountains. Lucky me I guess. Didn’t even bother with the rain jacket because it was quite warm and I’d boil from the I side. The last 25km I had to battle some strong headwinds but somehow managed. I was thrilled to learn that this holiday park has dorm rooms for 18NZD (~$12) and there’s no one here. 😎 Dried my clothes and I’m all good in a dry bed & with a dry tent still in the stuffsack.

Oh btw Phil Swift didn’t lie. Flex tape actually worked and held up pretty good despite being rolled up. 😂
